Cooking and tasting delicious recipes from home one cookbook at a time.
I'm Sierra, a designer, wife, dog mom, and self-proclaimed foodie. I've loved food for as long as I can remember but it wasn't up until my husband and I bought our first home when it all truly felt more like passion. At the time, we were looking to save a few pennies by eating more at home and were looking to make better shifts in our diet and eating habits and so the journey began. I started to collect cookbooks and pay more attention to ingredient labels then ever before. And I quickly realized how a kitchen’s flow and function - or lack of - could easily affect my mood or energy to cook in the first place. I loved learning how to make my favorite foods while enjoying it all from HOME - and the best part was, I often found it to be more delicious AND cheaper. I started organizing my go-to recipes and even started selling a few templates to help others do the same! For years, I nibbled with the idea of starting a food blog but always quickly became overwhelmed up until recently when it occurred to me to simply focus on what I love most and keep it simple! Now, I’m finally biting into this passion project one small bite at a time and I'm excited to simply see where it goes!
A little about what you'll find here.
So when it comes to food, I honestly enjoy a variety and our recipes reflect that. My personal go-tos usually fall within these categories – Mexican, Italian, Asian, and American. I also love a little heat and am slowly branding out into curries and other flavorful dishes. We are not strictly vegetarian or vegan but we do like to incorporate as many plant-based dishes into our diet as possible. Our go-to animal protein is usually fish, and although we try to limit our chicken or red meat, we still very much enjoy it and include a recipe with it here and there.Inspiration for my recipes come from everywhere. Most of them come from what we cook and eat in our home regularly – whether it’s discovered from a cookbook, blog or even a family recipe. I also like to look to magazines, tv shows, and even restaurants we frequent. For any recipes that we have found and love from other sources that we loved so much to share, we always do our best to cite and link back to the original source.
